Born in 1923 in Nara Prefecture. Began working as an advertising photographer in the 1950s.
Following a life-changing visit to a pristine natural forest,
began taking nature photos in Japan, especially woodlands and bodies of water.
Has held solo exhibitions in Japan as well as
the United States in addition to authoring several books.
